Lorraine Ali started her writing career at Option magazine in the mid 1990s. Option was one of the most respected alternative pop culture magazines around, and there, Lorraine Ali wrote covers on Courtney Love and her band Hole, Stereolab, Tricky and Moby. As a contributing editor, Lorraine Ali also wrote features on everything from Hispanic hip hop to Middle Eastern-influenced club music. Lorraine Ali went on to become a regular writer for GQ, a music columnist for Mademoiselle and a senior critic for Rolling Stone. Lorraine Ali is now a senior writer with Newsweek.
